Prepare yourself for an unforgettable and cozily eerie journey through light and darkness – where a small flame puts the entire world on edge.

The game has already gained attention and won awards at The Game Awards and the Steam Awards, as well as being nominated and praised by BAFTA and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. Behind the game is a small creative studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, where the world of The Midnight Walk has taken shape from clay, cardboard, and a great deal of patience in a local workshop.

An unforgettable journey through light and darkness

In The Midnight Walk, you take on the role of The Burnt One and are joined by the small lantern creature, Potboy. Together, you walk along the Midnight Walk – a long road leading through a world filled with both horrors and beauty. With the help of Potboy’s flame, you must outsmart frightening monsters that want to consume his light and plunge the world into total darkness.

The story consists of five interconnected tales of fire and darkness, where you face terrors from your worst nightmares, meet colorful characters, and experience glimpses of warmth and hope in a doomed world.

A handcrafted world of clay

One of the things that makes The Midnight Walk unique is its visual style. Everything you see – from winding landscapes to menacing creatures – was first sculpted by hand using real clay and cardboard, and then 3D‑scanned into the game. The result is a suggestive and artistic world animated in a stop‑motion style.

On Nintendo Switch 2, you can experience every detail both in handheld mode and on the TV via docked mode – perfect for bringing with you into the darkness wherever you go.
