Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Launches This Week Exclusively On Nintendo Switch 2

Wednesday, 5. November 2025
The ancient tale of Demon King Ganondorf’s invasion of Hyrule is about to come to life in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6th.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment puts the heroic Princess Zelda in the middle of the fabled Imprisoning War, which would reshape the kingdom of Hyrule forever. This untold story from Hyrule's distant past ultimately led to the tale told in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and allows players to uncover the canonical events only previously hinted at in that game.

But Princess Zelda is not alone in this war. Familiar figures like King Rauru and the legendary Sages fight alongside her against Ganondorf’s forces, with new characters like the boisterous Korok Calamo and others also joining the battle against the Demon King.

Players can master each hero’s unique signature fighting style as they face hordes of enemies. They can also team up with allies to create powerful Sync Strikes to turn the tide of battle and strategically deploy Zonai devices harnessing water, wind and other effects to change the flow of combat and emerge victorious. By utilising their entire arsenal, players can unleash devastating combos, overwhelm legions of enemies and topple powerful bosses.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment supports two-player local co-op, where players can team up with a friend via split-screen on a single console to defend Hyrule. With two separate consoles, only one player needs to have the game when connecting through GameShare.

Additionally, amiibo accessories can be scanned for in-game rewards including crafting material and helpful items. Players with save data from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will also receive a High Guard’s Claymore, while those with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom save data will receive a High Guard’s Sword – both redeemable after completing the Howling Tempests mission.
