Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Launches Exclusively On Nintendo Switch 2 Today

Thursday, 22. October 2026
Head to the island resort of Wuhu Island and play 12 different sports using intuitive motion controls in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 today.

Wuhu Island is home to all sorts of unique sports, including Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, Thumb Wrestling, Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane. Plus, players can warm up for the activities with a little skipping in Jump Rope.

Players can get competitive using the Joy-Con 2 controllers as bows, rackets, handlebars and more or explore the island and hunt for photo spots in Leisure Sports like Prop Plane or Skateboarding. In the Island Crown mode, each discipline has a champ that players will need to beat if they want to claim the crown for themselves. They say that if one surpasses an Island Champion, they can go up against a seasoned master of the sport.

Players can gather family and friends for a sporting island retreat in their living room, or face-off online to connect from afar. They can also put their skills to the test against players around the world online in the Pro League and compete against others at a similar level, starting at E. If they win, they’ll start to climb the league. Players that prefer to just play for fun can also join the Casual Online Play mode, where wins and losses aren’t recorded.

Whether players are rocking the Sportsmate or Mii character look, there are all sorts of items and clothing they can unlock. Spocco Points can be redeemed in the Item Center for clothing, sporting equipment, hairstyles and more. Players can earn Spocco Points whether they’re playing online or offline, solo or with friends. The Item Center also rotates items on a weekly and monthly basis.
