Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is playable only on Nintendo Switch 2. If the physical or virtual game card is inserted into a Nintendo Switch console, you can play the Nintendo Switch version of the game, without any of the additional features exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

If you already own Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for Nintendo Switch, you can purchase the upgrade pack to play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Information about Torna - The Golden Country

The additional story, Torna - The Golden Country, is sold separately as part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass.

A free software update for the physical version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country will be released on July 30th, 2026, adding support for 4K / 60 fps in TV mode and 1080p / 60 fps in handheld mode when played on Nintendo Switch 2. Players who own Torna – The Golden Country as part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass will be able to play it K / 60 fps in TV mode and 1080p / 60 fps in handheld mode by purchasing the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack.
