Yoshi And The Mysterious Book Launches Exclusively On Nintendo Switch 2 This Week

Tuesday, 19. May 2026
Join Yoshi on a page-turning adventure and let curiosity lead the way from cover to cover while exploring a colourful world packed with quirky creatures.

One day, a talking book named Mr. E drops out of the sky onto the island where Yoshis live. Mr. E’s pages are packed with creatures to discover, and he invites Yoshis to dive in and learn about them. But they’re not alone: it looks like Bowser Jr. and Kamek are also searching for a discovery of their own.

Let curiosity lead the way as you interact with the quirky creatures Yoshi encounters and learn all about them. Some can grow crops for Yoshi to eat, others blow bubbles that Yoshi can use to float around, and some will even sing when jumped on. When examining creatures, Yoshi can jump on them, carry them on his back, gobble ‘em up to see what they taste like, and more.

Use Yoshi’s abilities to make all sorts of discoveries about the creatures and how they interact with the environments in which they’re found. Each discovery can lead to new avenues of exploration and even more discoveries. Come up with a new name for each of the newly discovered creatures or ask Mr. E to suggest one. Players can use their imagination, experiment and catalogue their findings to fill up Mr. E’s pages.

Each of Mr. E’s chapters offers fascinating new places for Yoshi to investigate. As players progress, more chapters of the book will unlock and expand their research opportunities. From woodland areas and windy mountaintops, to sunny seasides and bug-infested jungles, each one is packed with unique habitats for the subjects of Yoshi’s studies.

Additionally, players can scan compatible amiibo figures each day to earn more tokens, which can be used to unlock hints about discoveries.
